Mission 6: An Expert Tale of Murder and Mayhem for PunkApocalyptic: The RPG

In the late, great Carl Sagan’s book, The Demon-Haunted World: Science As a Candle in the Dark, Sagan explores, to great length and with great concern, the phenomena of alien abductions that seemed quite the craze at the time of the writing. Aliens were fast replacing the Satanic Panic. Obviously, Sagan makes great points about alien abductions being a milkshake made from delusion, denial, abuse, false memories “revealed” by some well-intentioned (and some diabolical) therapists and counselors, and mass hysteria that seems to grip folks pretty much all the time. Being on Team Sagan, and a proud believer in nothing, I have no reason to doubt Sagan’s conclusions. However, I do think it would be a lot of fun to create a mission involving anal-probe-wielding aliens who come back to Earth after everything went to hell. So that’s what you have, here, in digital format, maybe in your hands or on your desk. Whatever.
