Orc Wars 9: Lay Down Your Cares

In these end times, the gods clutch at what they have lest they lose it all. Father Death has sealed the gates to the Underworld to secure his dominion against the Devil’s machinations. The closure prevents souls from coming or going, which means that efforts to restore life to the dead will no longer succeed. The characters, on their quest to rid the orcs of the corruption curse and end their ruinous war, must restore Horus, the last heir of the Empire, to life. To do that, they must break into the lands of the dead, find his soul, and escape with it before Father Death discovers and ends them all.

Orc Wars Part 9: Lay Down Your Cares brings the characters to the Underworld and gives them a chance to interact with shades, guardian beasts, and other perils as they search for the soul they need. While written as a continuation of the Orc Wars campaign, this adventure works as a standalone master adventure as well. In either case, groups braving the Land of Death must be strong, courageous, and determined if they are to escape to the mortal world once more.
